Do
You Have What It Takes
To Become An Innkeeper?
The B&B Team has been
working with Aspiring Innkeepers for fourteen years locally,
regionally, and nationally. We are pleased to be offering innkeeping
seminars for those who are seriously considering this wonderful
profession. This summer, The B&B Team will
be offering The
Innkeeper’s Resource ™ Seminar for Aspiring Innkeepers
in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. To read what some of our recent attendees
have said, click
here.
Your inn seminar guides will be
founding partner Peter Scherman and partners and former Innkeepers, Janet & Rick
Wolf.
There is no substitute for real
life experiences! With our combined knowledge and experiences in acquisition,
valuation, financing options, staffing, innkeeping and hospitality you will be
fully immersed in an intensely informative three day seminar. On a lighter
note, you will enjoy the conversation and camaraderie with different experienced
and successful Innkeepers both evenings.
As an Aspiring Innkeeper you
need a clear vision of innkeeping as a business and a lifestyle. In your
seminar we will address and work with you to understand all aspects of this
wonderful and rewarding career. Our goal is to insure that your goals are met as
you work through the process. We will work with you to help you decide whether
innkeeping is the right profession for you, personally and financially.
Your seminar provides a comprehensive overview of
innkeeping from Amenities to Zoning.
Examples of the many essential topics we will cover are:
- creating your Inn’s profile
- full service vs. bed & breakfast
- defining and finding the right property
- due diligence
- discussions of property assessments and valuations
- identifying financing options
- establishing a sound business and marketing plan
- daily operations of an Inn
- exploring the personal side of Innkeeping
The cost of your seminar is
$495.00 for two people or $375.00 for a single, which includes all meals,
breaks, and seminar materials. In addition to the seminar itself, as a
seminar graduate you will be entitled to a personal, half day modeling session
with one of us at our office, either in Maine or Virginia. The cost of your lodging
during the seminar is additional, and
we have negotiated a favorable rate for our seminar attendees at the beautiful
Iris Inn in the heart of the Shenandoah
Valley, Waynesboro, VA. Dinner our first evening together is casual; Saturday
night is a gourmet affair, and you are the guests of The B&B Team for both, plus
your lunch on Saturday.
Upon confirmation of your
seminar registration we will provide you with information as to making your
lodging reservations. Attendees should plan on checking in as close to 3:00 PM
as possible as the Opening Session will begin at 4:00 PM Friday afternoon.
Please plan on departing after 2:30 PM on Sunday.
