In the hills of eastern West Virginia, embraced by the great Monongahela National Forest, lies a country inn of unusual dimension and character. It is offered today in its current form for the first time. With fourteen guest units, a country store, and a full service, gourmet restaurant, this inn offers the tranquility of a true getaway, first rate trout fishing, high quality dining, and just plain fun. The heart of this country inn is a six guest room lodge that includes two efficiency units. Situated adjacent to the company store, each lodge room is accessed from a wide screened porch that overlooks, and is serenaded by, the trout-stocked river. The store, which doubles as the reception area for checking in and out, offers a range of goods from beer and wine to soft drinks, clothing, gifts, postcards, fishing gear, and more, providing not only a great service to guests but a solid profit center as well. Also located at this center of the inn area is the restaurant with a bar/lounge and a variety of indoor and outdoor seating for all seasons. It also overlooks the river and provides a spectacular setting for a romantic or friendly dinner of truly gourmet fare in an unpretentious, casual setting. Beyond the six room lodge, store, and restaurant, the true secret of this inn’s success are the six houses, cottages, and cabins which the inn owns within a short drive. All are different from each other, from log cabins to spacious stucco home to lofty cedar retreat or historic stone cottage. Several have decks practically overhanging the river, making it possible to step out the door to fish. All have large whirlpool tubs either on the back deck or in spacious screened porches. Fireplaces or wood stoves are omnipresent. And since these are houses of different sizes from two to five bedrooms, all have kitchens. Guests, who can find something that meets their size and price requirements, will sometimes book for a weekend only, but many people make this inn their vacation destination, booking for a week or more at a time, cooking their own meals and going to the restaurant when they want to. Operating at an impressive 65% occupancy, this inn is offered for $1,950,000 with the six houses ("The Residence" can be purchased at an additional price.).
